This Privacy Policy explains how Noor (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our app and services (the “Service”).
By using Noor, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1) Information we collect
a) You provide to us
Account & Profile: email, username, password (hashed), optional gender, optional date of birth.
Content: reviews, club details, event descriptions, images you upload.
b) Collected automatically
Location data: approximate device location (from device services) used only to show nearby Islamic places and relevant events/clubs.
Device & usage data: device model, OS version, app version, and basic interaction logs for security and reliability.
c) From third parties
Supabase provides authentication and database hosting.
Mapbox provides map tiles and related functionality.
2) How we use information
Operate and improve the Service (authentication, hosting, performance, troubleshooting).
Show nearby places and relevant events/clubs using location.
Respect event visibility rules using gender (e.g., female-only events to female users).
Communicate with you (service notices, updates).
Enforce our Terms, protect safety, prevent fraud and abuse.
Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3) Sharing of information
We share information:
With service providers (e.g., Supabase, Mapbox) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations;
For legal reasons (to comply with law, enforce Terms, protect rights, safety, and security);
With your consent or at your direction.
We do not publicly display your precise location or gender. Event organizers may target visibility (e.g., female-only), but do not receive your personal gender attribute from us.
4) Data retention
Account data: kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Content (reviews, events): may remain as long as necessary for the Service or until removed; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited time.
5) Your choices & rights
Access/Update. You can update account information in the app.
Location. You can disable location permissions in your device settings, though Noor relies on location for nearby results.
Delete account. Contact [email protected]
to request deletion (from the email associated with your account). We’ll verify and process within a reasonable timeframe.
Marketing. We don’t run marketing emails by default; if we ever do, you’ll have opt-out controls.
6) Children
Noor is for users 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using Noor, contact us so we can delete the account.
7) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures (e.g., secure transport, hashed passwords, access controls). No system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk. Report security issues to [email protected]

8) International users
Noor currently operates in Atlanta, GA (USA). If you use the Service from other regions, you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where laws may differ from those in your country.
9) Third-party services
Use of Supabase and Mapbox means their services may process data subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their independent practices.
10) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll post the revised version with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
